Software developers may be hustling down to Chandigarh and Mohali, however, QA Infotech is the first software software quality assurance and testing company to enter the State of Punjab.
Investing Rs. 20-crore, QA Infotech will sell up a 1,000-seat operations centre at Mohali, just a stone’s throw from Chandigarh, for serving international and domestic clients.
To be completed in two phases, Phase I will see the setting up of a compatibility and performance testing lab in Mohali.
Mukesh Sharma, Managing Director, QA Infotech (P) Ltd. says the increasing popularity of on-line examinations has necessitated the rising demand for performance testing labs, since they allow one to test what will happen, when thousands of users are simultaneously logged on to a site.
In Phase II of the project, an automation tools lab will be set up, the outcome of a tie-up between QA Infotech and other players like IBM, Mercury Interactive and Seque.
Further, since India holds an estimated 70% of the global market of software products-testing worth $8 billion, Sharma affirms 2007 – 08 promises a bright future awaits all involved players.
Aiming to double its turnover of $10-million over the next year, QA Infotech has consistently shown an annual growth rate of 150%, and may go in for market borrowing through an IPO in 2010 to help it expand further.
Currently, QA Infotech also runs a 300 and a 200-seater facility in Noida, as Sharma preferred to set up his venture on privately acquired land in Noida, rather than take advantage of the incentives offered IT firms for setting up base in Chandigarh / Mohali SEZ IT Parks.
