Compact Disc net doubles to Rs 4.22 crore

Animation outsourcing firm Compact Disc India on Tuesday announced a more than two-fold jump in net profit at Rs 4.22 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2007, against Rs 1.86 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Sales revenue of the Chandigarh-based company soared 74.44 per cent to Rs 21.31 crore in the second quarter, from Rs 12.22 crore in the previous corresponding period. Earnings per share was at Rs 4.41 for the second quarter.
The company is working on 3D animation film outsourcing projects worth $41 million from overseas clients.
Among these projects is Hustle Bustle, with Interactive Creative Media Pte Ltd, Singapore, for $12.45 million, and If Tomorrow Never Comes, with iMedia Ventures Ltd for $8.5 million.
The company recently signed another contract for the a film, 3000 BC, for $19.8 million.
