Vietnam among top 30 IT outsourcing spots

VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam is on Gartner’s, a reputed US market researcher, list of popular countries where IT groups outsource service operations.

Gartner has produced a list of 30 offshore service locations used by IT companies ranked based on the following criteria: cost, cultural similarity, intellectual property and data security, education, government assistance, legal stability, infrastructure, human resources, language and economic and political environment.


In the Asia – Pacific region, China is rated equal to India in terms of scale but its disadvantage is English. Vietnam is on the list but its business environment is said to be not attractive enough.

Gartner forecasts that next year, global offshore services spending will rise by 60% in Europe and 40% in the Americas.

The 30 most popular destinations in Alphabetical order:

The Americas: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Uruguay

Asia – Pacific: Australia, China, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, The Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam

Europe, the Middle East and Africa: Czech Republic, Hungary, Israel, North Ireland, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine.
