Fiserv Inc. said Monday that it will extend its outsourcing services throughout Texas with the acquisition of a licensee and reseller of Fiserv’s ITI Premier core banking system.

Brookfield-based Fiserv said it purchased The Data Center, of Grapevine, Texas, from Compass Bank, a subsidiary of Compass Bancshares Inc. of Birmingham, Ala. Terms were not disclosed.

Fiserv said it is acquiring all of The Data Center’s assets and contracts, and the center’s 30 employees will become employees of Fiserv. Fiserv’s ITI core banking system allows for outsourced or in-house account processing.

“This acquisition allows Fiserv to extend our core footprint and increase our ITI Outsourcing presence in the Texas marketplace through new expansion in the Dallas and Rio Grande Valley areas,” said Mike Young, president of Fiserv Bank and Thrift Division.

The decision is in line with the company’s plan of increasing headcount to 35,000 by end FY 2008–09.
